Is artificial intelligence really neutral and objective? As AI becomes increasingly integrated into our daily lives, businesses and decision-making processes, questions of fairness, ethics and reliability are becoming more important than ever. This talk organised by BeCode explores one of the key challenges surrounding artificial intelligence: bias.
Behind every algorithm lies human data, shaped by historical inequalities, cognitive shortcuts and societal assumptions. These biases can emerge at every stage of AI development, from data collection and model design to user interactions and generative AI tools. They can influence the results produced by these technologies and even amplify existing inequalities.
Through accessible explanations and real-world examples, Vanessa Rivera Quinones, Irene Ghioni and Siegried Camus will help participants understand where AI bias comes from, how it affects the technologies we use and why recognising these limitations is essential.
An opportunity to gain a better understanding of the ethical challenges surrounding artificial intelligence and develop a more critical perspective on the technologies shaping our future.
