Seven laureates for the Women in Business call for projects 2023!

The winning projects in the Women in Business call for projects 2023 have been announced! The seven selected initiatives are designed to support women’s entrepreneurship in Brussels through support programmes, in addition to mentoring, mutual aid and coaching activities and events.

Supporting female entrepreneurship projects in Brussels

The 2023 barometer of female entrepreneurship highlights the gender gap in the Brussels entrepreneurial ecosystem, with 29% of freelancers in Brussels being women. The study also reveals the need for measures to support and finance entrepreneurial projects undertaken by women in Brussels, against a backdrop of a gender parity deficit.

With this in mind, in 2022 the Brussels-Capital Region launched the Women in Business call for projects, which provides financial support for projects that support women entrepreneurs in Brussels. The first call supported eight projects that assisted more than 130 women entrepreneurs or would-be entrepreneurs.

Seven projects selected in 2023

In 2023, seven projects were selected to receive financial support of up to 35,000 euros, or 100,000 euros for projects carried out in partnership between several structures.
